Independent calculator and guide. Not an official Ladbrokes tool. Results are mathematical estimates, not live odds or a bookmaker settlement quote. You can compare ordinary singles, accumulators, each-way stakes and qualifying stake-not-returned free bets without signing in to a bookmaker account.

How to Use the Calculator

  1. Choose a bet type: Single, Accumulator, Each-way single or a conditional stake-not-returned free bet.
  2. Enter your stake. For each-way, this field means the stake per part, so the total cost is twice the amount entered.
  3. Choose decimal or fractional odds. Decimal odds such as 3.50 already include the returned cash stake in the total payout; fractional odds such as 5/1 express the profit relative to the stake.
  4. For an accumulator, enter the odds for each leg. For each-way, provide the place fraction and whether the horse wins, places without winning or finishes unplaced.
  5. Calculate and inspect the three separate results: total stake, estimated gross return and estimated net profit. Compare the final accepted bookmaker slip with your inputs.

The calculator does not fetch live Ladbrokes prices, confirm an eligible market or predict the outcome of a bet. A result is only an estimate based on the values entered. Changing a displayed price or market condition can change the true settlement.

Single Bets and Accumulators: How Returns Are Calculated

For an ordinary winning single with decimal odds, gross return = stake × decimal odds. Net profit = gross return − cash stake. A £10 cash single at decimal odds 3.50 would therefore return £35.00 in total, including the original £10 stake. Net profit would be £25.00. If the selection loses, the return is zero and the full cash stake is lost.

An accumulator, commonly called an acca, combines several separate selections in one bet. The decimal odds of the legs are multiplied together. If a two-leg acca contains prices 2.00 and 1.50, the combined price is 3.00. With a £5 stake, a winning acca returns £15.00 gross, of which £10.00 is profit.

Those examples assume that every required selection wins and that the accepted prices remain as entered. In an ordinary accumulator, one losing selection defeats the entire bet. Void legs and specialist market rules can alter actual settlement. Do not apply a simple accumulator formula to a correlated same-match Bet Builder, whose combined price is set by the bookmaker; see Ladbrokes Bet Builder for that separate product.

The calculator rounds displayed sterling results to two decimal places. It retains greater internal precision for its calculations, so a bookmaker that rounds individual components separately may produce a small difference.

Each-Way Bet Calculator: Win and Place Stakes

An each-way single consists of two equal stakes: a win part and a place part. If you enter £5 each-way, your total stake is £10, not £5. Misreading the per-part stake is one of the easiest ways to misinterpret a potential return.

The win part uses the normal win odds. The place part uses a fraction of the win profit odds, specified by the race or market. For example, at 5/1 win odds (decimal 6.00) with 1/5 place terms, the place profit odds are 1/1, giving place decimal odds of 2.00.

With £5 per part, the illustrative outcomes are:

Result Win return Place return Gross return Net result after £10 total stake
Selection wins £30.00 £10.00 £40.00 £30.00 profit
Places but does not win £0.00 £10.00 £10.00 £0.00
Unplaced £0.00 £0.00 £0.00 £10.00 loss

These are mathematical examples, not quoted Ladbrokes racing prices. A win ordinarily satisfies both the win and place portions, subject to the applicable terms. Actual each-way place fractions and the number of places paid vary by event and offer. Dead heats, non-runners, Rule 4 deductions and other adjustments can affect settlement.

Before comparing a result with the bet slip, confirm the exact place fraction, the number of places and any deductions for that race. This tool cannot determine those details automatically and should never silently assume a universal place term.

Lucky 15, Lucky 31 and Other Multiples

The accompanying tool does not calculate full-cover system bets. These involve multiple distinct betting lines rather than a single multiplied price. A standard Lucky 15 has 15 lines from four selections; a Lucky 31 has 31 lines from five; a Lucky 63 has 63 lines from six. A Patent comprises seven lines from three selections.

Your stated stake may mean a unit stake per line. For example, £1 on each line of a 15-line Lucky 15 costs £15 in total before any each-way doubling. An each-way version normally has separate win and place line stakes, increasing the total cost further.

For a full-cover bet, the return depends on which subsets of selections succeed, their individual odds and each line's settlement. Typing an estimated overall price into a single-accumulator calculator will not reproduce that calculation. Use a properly tested line-by-line system calculator or check the bookmaker's full bet-slip breakdown. We do not present an unimplemented Lucky 15 function as available.

Free Bets: How the Payout Estimate Changes

Promotional stakes may be subject to stake-not-returned terms. The optional free-bet calculation mode applies only when the specific token rules explicitly exclude its face value from winnings.

For example, a £10 free-bet token used at decimal odds 4.00 would produce an estimated £30.00 return, calculated as £10 × (4.00 − 1), if the £10 token stake is not returned. An ordinary £10 cash single at the same odds would instead have £40.00 gross return, including the £10 cash stake.

The free-bet output is labelled winnings excluding token value, not net profit from an equivalent cash stake. A free-bet token is not freely withdrawable money, and its use may be restricted by eligible markets, expiry and maximum payouts. Our Ladbrokes free bets guide covers promotional conditions separately. Never assume every offer uses identical stake treatment.

Why a Ladbrokes Bet Slip May Show a Different Figure

If a calculated estimate disagrees with a live or settled Ladbrokes bet slip, check the accepted transaction and applicable terms before assuming an error:

  • Stake basis: an each-way bet has two stakes; a system bet may use a separate stake per line.
  • Accepted odds: the price can change between selection and final acceptance.
  • Place terms: the fractional place odds and number of paid places are specific to the race and market.
  • Settlement adjustments: non-runners, Rule 4 deductions, dead heats, void legs or special bet terms may alter returns.
  • Rounding: the operator may round individual components differently from the simplified estimate.
  • Status: an open bet, a conditional Cash Out quote and a fully settled return are not interchangeable amounts.

Keep the accepted bet reference, its exact market wording and the price at acceptance if the difference needs support review. Our Ladbrokes sportsbook review provides broader context for bets and markets.

What This Tool Does Not Calculate

This independent calculator covers singles, accumulators, each-way singles and a conditional stake-not-returned free-bet mode. It does not calculate Lucky 15/31/63 line outcomes, forecasts, tricast payouts, live price changes or bookmaker-specific correlated-selection pricing.

It also does not value an early settlement quote: Ladbrokes Cash Out explains that feature. It cannot confirm whether a particular bet has been accepted or paid; see Ladbrokes bet tracking for status checks.
