Playtech Markets, Operators and Licences

Written by Lucky BetMastermind, with help of ChatGPT.

Finding Playtech games on a casino website does not mean Playtech runs it. Playtech is predominantly a business-to-business (B2B) technology supplier, although group-linked companies operate certain British gambling sites. The operator, not the game logo, is accountable to customers.

For Playtech casinos in the UK, start with the named operator. Great Britain's Gambling Commission registers Playtech plc, Red Rock Managed Services Limited and Blue Rock Managed Services Limited under three different accounts. They explain five consumer websites, not ownership of every Playtech-powered casino. The UKGC entries below were checked on 8 November 2026.

Who Operates Playtech-Linked Casinos in Great Britain?

The UKGC lists four Sun and Fabulous domains against Red Rock Managed Services Limited and the British Mr Green domain against Blue Rock Managed Services Limited. Both are Gibraltar-incorporated companies appearing in Gibraltar's official licence-holder list as members of the Playtech Group.

British Gambling Website Named Consumer Operator UKGC Account Register Domain Status
sunbingo.co.uk, Sun Bingo Red Rock Managed Services Limited 67754 White Label
thesunvegas.co.uk, Sun Vegas Red Rock Managed Services Limited 67754 White Label
fabulousbingo.co.uk, Fabulous Bingo Red Rock Managed Services Limited 67754 White Label
fabulousvegas.co.uk, Fabulous Vegas Red Rock Managed Services Limited 67754 White Label
www.mrgreen.co.uk, Mr Green UK Blue Rock Managed Services Limited 67740 White Label

This register-backed map is not a casino ranking. White Label is the UKGC's recorded domain status; live legal terms establish the consumer-facing operator. The Commission cautions that businesses supply domain information, which it cannot guarantee to be accurate.

Gibraltar records show Red Rock under gaming licence 164 and Blue Rock under 158, separately from British permissions. Group affiliation does not prove a direct 100% shareholding by Playtech plc. See our Playtech overview.

These sites are 18+, subject to residence and identity checks. The table does not verify any particular game's availability.

Playtech's UK Gambling Commission Licence

Playtech licence may mean a regulatory permission or a commercial software agreement. A supplier's UKGC entry does not license every customer's website.

Legal Licence Holder UKGC Account and Licence Numbers Active Activities Shown in the Register
Playtech plc 38516; remote 038516-R-319097-034; non-remote 038516-N-319098-022 Remote gambling software, casino, bingo, real-event betting and gaming-machine technical full; non-remote gambling software and gaming-machine technical full
Red Rock Managed Services Limited 67754; remote 067754-R-341313-003 Remote bingo, casino and general betting for real and virtual events, active from 2 October 2025
Blue Rock Managed Services Limited 67740; remote 067740-R-341312-003 Remote bingo and casino, active from 2 October 2025

On Playtech plc's own account, the remote software permission began 25 September 2014, while its remote casino and real-event betting permissions date from 1 November 2014 and remote bingo from 24 March 2021. Gaming-machine technical full activities were added 6 February 2026, including a non-remote category; its non-remote gambling software activity dates from 10 September 2018. These are activity start dates, not casino launch dates.

Playtech plc's 38516 is not the operating licence for independent casinos. Red Rock and Blue Rock have separate permissions. Playtech Software Limited is another legal entity; similar names do not transfer licences.

UKGC authorisations concern activities within the Gambling Commission's remit in Great Britain. A Gibraltar Remote Gaming Licence (RGL) is a separate permission issued under Gibraltar's system. Neither number functions as a blanket worldwide casino licence.

Red Rock and the Sun and Fabulous Brands

Sun Bingo's official legal notice names operator Red Rock Managed Services Limited, Gibraltar company 125099, UKGC 67754 and Gibraltar 164. That establishes more than a casino directory noting Playtech games.

All four domains match Red Rock's UKGC list and Gibraltar's approved-brand record. The UKGC bingo, casino and betting activities are active as checked in November 2026, but a site's actual products may be narrower.

The Sun branding introduces another role. Sun Bingo's official pages carry News Group Newspapers Limited copyright notices; Playtech's reporting also describes commercial arrangements involving News UK. A media brand or intellectual-property relationship is not the same thing as the gambling operating licence held by Red Rock. Nor does the use of a Playtech platform determine who owns the trade mark.

Customers should start with the operator named in live terms for accounts, payments and complaints. The brands and subsidiaries guide separates operating relationships from ownership.

Blue Rock and Mr Green UK

The British Mr Green UK website has a distinct operator: www.mrgreen.co.uk appears as White Label under Blue Rock's UKGC account 67740. Its official help centre names Blue Rock Managed Services Limited, Gibraltar company 124838, UKGC 67740 and Gibraltar 158.

The UKGC licence records active remote casino and bingo activities from 2 October 2025. Gibraltar's register names Blue Rock as part of the Playtech Group and lists Mr Green as its approved brand. The British help-centre copyright notice refers separately to Mr Green IP Limited. Those distinctions matter: the legal casino operator, the holder of brand-related intellectual property and the wider international Mr Green business need not be the same company.

This evidence establishes who operates the British domain. It does not establish that Playtech owns every Mr Green operation abroad, or identify the precise direct shareholding chain behind Blue Rock. Overseas Mr Green sites require their own jurisdiction-specific checks. A shared name, colour scheme or game supplier cannot substitute for the British operator's actual licence.

Where Playtech Operates and Supplies Technology Internationally

Following the April 2025 Snaitech sale, Playtech mainly supplies operators with technology rather than accepting bets itself. Its H1 2026 results name these relationships:

Market Disclosed Operators or Commercial Activity What It Does Not Establish
United States Fanatics online casino launches in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia; FanDuel casino/Live expansion and iPoker in named states; DraftKings Live in Connecticut; bet365 Live in Michigan; Hard Rock Digital activity in Florida; Ember Casino PAM+ and casino/Live in New Jersey No single Playtech licence covers all states or products; the individual operators' local authorisations need checking
Canada Ontario activity including a Superbet launch and existing clients such as DraftKings and FanDuel; Playtech described Alberta as a newly regulated market from 13 July 2026 A supplier relationship or provincial expansion does not certify every partner's current provincial permissions
Mexico, Colombia and Brazil Caliente Interactive in Mexico and growth in Colombia; Brazilian software presence and São Paulo live-studio investment; management expected a major Brazil agreement later in 2026 A Caliente contract is not a licence in every Latin American jurisdiction; an expected Brazil deal is not a signed one
Spain and Poland Spain partnerships with Codere, Cirsa, bet365 and Entain brands; Platform, Casino and Live supplied to Poland's Totalizator Named clients are not substitutes for Spanish DGOJ or Polish regulator records
South Africa Relationships with Hollywoodbets, Betway and Tsogo Sun Gaming; LottoStar named as a customer following a December 2025 launch No individual South African operating-licence numbers have been established by this table

Playtech's H1 2026 accounts report €328.4 million of regulated-market B2B revenue and €66.4 million from unregulated markets: approximately 83% versus 17% of the €394.8 million B2B total. The company records this geographic revenue according to the licensee's jurisdiction when a software agreement is established. It is not a count of Playtech-held national operating licences, or a claim that unregulated revenue necessarily comes from illegal gambling.

The six-state US iGaming footprint describes product presence, not six Playtech plc operating licences. The same caveat applies to Canadian launches and Latin American partnerships. See the business model and financial results.

What a Playtech Licence Does and Does Not Prove

Four separate questions sit behind the phrase licensed Playtech casino:

  1. Who supplies the technology? A game may be developed or integrated by Playtech or another group company. That proves a supplier role only when the commercial information supports it.
  2. Who operates the gambling website? The legal entity named in the current terms should align with the relevant regulatory account and domain listing. This is the usual first contact for a customer's dispute.
  3. Which activities are authorised? A UKGC record can show remote casino, bingo or betting permissions. The list defines regulated activities, not a catalogue of games currently available on every domain.
  4. Who controls the brand? Copyright notices, trade marks, licence agreements and group ownership may point to different entities. The right to use a brand does not itself authorise real-money gambling.

A UKGC gambling software permission does not automatically give the holder an operator's permission for every customer website. Likewise, a commercial software licence is contractual, not an equivalent regulatory grant. Playtech plc's account, Red Rock's account and Blue Rock's account answer different legal questions.

A licence is not a guarantee of a game's fairness, successful withdrawals or favourable terms. See Playtech's history for its shift towards B2B.

When Operators and Licence Status Change

Old licence entries can be accurate historically and misleading today. VF2011 Limited, UKGC account 45110, previously held remote bingo, casino and real- and virtual-event betting permissions. The Commission's register shows those activities as surrendered on 9 March 2026.

That does not invalidate Sun Bingo: the current domains sit under Red Rock's permissions, active since 2 October 2025. These records concern different holders and periods.

Evidence Encountered Proper Interpretation
A historic VF2011 listing Evidence of a previous permission, not the present Sun Bingo operator
Red Rock's current account and named domains A dated licence and domain relationship that can be checked with the UKGC
A third-party directory or site displaying a similar company name or licence number A claim requiring comparison with the exact domain, legal entity and regulator record

Names can mislead as well. A similarly named British consultancy is not automatically the Gibraltar-incorporated Blue Rock Managed Services Limited. Nor should a separate site be described as part of Red Rock merely because it repeats a number. A regulator's domain record and current legal footer must agree before an operator relationship is presented as verified.

Our Playtech risks and opportunities analysis considers the consequences of regulatory changes; this page concerns who holds which permission.

How to Check a Playtech Casino or Partner

For an unfamiliar Playtech-linked website, I would check the following:

  1. Read the current legal footer and terms. Record the exact website domain, named operator, company registration number and any UKGC or Gibraltar licence numbers.
  2. Check the legal entity. Match the company name, incorporation jurisdiction and registration number; ignore unrelated businesses with similar names.
  3. Use the UKGC Public Register for Great Britain. Look up the account, confirm each relevant activity is active, note the start/status dates, and inspect the Domain names tab for the exact site.
  4. Check Gibraltar separately where applicable. Compare the licence holder and approved brands with Gibraltar's official Gambling Division listing. One regulator's approval does not replace the other's.
  5. Check products and consumer terms separately. A licence does not confirm a named slot, current offer, withdrawal rule or complaint outcome. If records conflict, withhold a conclusion until the operator or regulator clarifies it.

For example, a search for Sun Bingo should lead to the named Red Rock operator, UKGC 67754, the matching domain and Gibraltar RGL164. The same method shows Mr Green UK under Blue Rock 67740, not under Playtech plc's supplier account 38516.

My conclusion is straightforward: Playtech's international market presence is substantial, but a supplier footprint, a UK white-label domain and an operator's national licence remain separate facts. Reading them together is the only reliable way to build an accurate market map.
