Betsson brands include the international Betsson name and regional gambling brands such as Betsafe, NordicBet, Rizk, StarCasino and INKAbet. But a brand is not automatically a separate company, and the businesses behind these names do not all hold the same licences. The Betsson subsidiaries described in corporate filings include holding companies, gaming operators, technology businesses and local service entities.
This guide separates the portfolio people recognise from the legal companies that make up the group. Its principal historical ownership baseline is Betsson AB's Annual Report 2025, supplemented by official developments disclosed through 4 November 2026. It is a selected, evidence-led map, not a claim to reproduce every currently registered group company. For the distinction between the listed parent and the operating organisation, start with our Betsson Group overview.
- Listed parent: Betsson AB (publ), Sweden.
- Operating group: numerous legal entities across several jurisdictions.
- Customer brands: Betsson and a portfolio of regional and specialist names.
- Evidence baseline: year-end 2025 subsidiary disclosures; subsequent changes through November 2026 identified separately.
- Key rule: a brand, website, licensed operator and shareholder can be four different things.
Which Brands Are Part of Betsson Group?
Betsson Group's own products-and-brands presentation identifies Betsson as its principal global brand, alongside selected regional names including Betsafe, NordicBet and Rizk. Its corporate website additionally features StarCasino and INKAbet. The portfolio is broader than those names, but a historical acquisition announcement is not sufficient evidence that every acquired brand remains commercially active in every market.
| Brand | Consumer product or role | Legal operator or entity | Relationship status | Market context | Evidence / date |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Betsson | Flagship casino and sportsbook brand | Market-specific group operator; one global licensee not established | Current group brand | International; country terms vary | Group brand pages; checked 4 Nov 2026 |
| Betsafe | Casino and sportsbook brand | Depends on jurisdiction; no single entity assigned here | Current group brand | Regional European positioning | Group products page; checked 4 Nov 2026 |
| NordicBet | Casino and sportsbook brand | Market-specific operator to verify separately | Current group brand | Nordic and regional positioning | Group products page; checked 4 Nov 2026 |
| Rizk | Casino-oriented consumer brand | Historically linked to Zecure Gaming Limited in the UK; not a universal operator mapping | Current in group brand presentation; UK historical status separately qualified | International name; UKGC account 56427 surrendered | Group products page and UKGC; checked 4 Nov 2026 |
| StarCasino | Regional casino brand | Specific legal operating entity not asserted here | Current group-promoted brand | Italy-related brand context | Group homepage; checked 4 Nov 2026 |
| INKAbet | Regional gaming brand acquired in 2021 | Exact local operator requires territory-specific verification | Current group-promoted brand | Peru / Latin American context | Group homepage and corporate history; checked 4 Nov 2026 |
| RaceBets | Specialist horse-racing betting | Do not infer the operator from the brand name alone | Acquired brand; current country scope must be checked | Specialist markets rather than universal group-wide offer | Corporate history and FY2025 disclosures |
| CasinoEuro | Casino brand | Specific country operator not established in this table | Documented group brand historically; current market scope not confirmed | International historical portfolio | Betsson Group corporate statements; historical |
| betFIRST | Former Belgian brand | Belgian acquired operation; exact licence holder assessed separately | Rebranded in Belgium, not a separate currently promoted flagship | Belgium | Betsson launch announcement and Q3 2026 report |
Reading the table: “Current group brand” describes recognition in contemporary corporate material, not proof that a particular site accepts customers in the UK or that its local trading company is a direct subsidiary of Betsson AB. A missing operator name is an evidential limit, not an invitation to borrow one from a different country's website. In particular, the similar spellings StarCasino and Starcasino.be should not be treated as evidence of identical legal ownership.
Betsson Subsidiary Companies and Legal Entities
The table below includes selected subsidiaries, other group entities and associated investments. These are different legal and accounting relationships; inclusion does not mean that every entity is wholly owned or controlled by Betsson AB.
The legal structure is more extensive than the brand list. Note 16 of Betsson AB's Annual Report 2025 presents 97 entries: 95 company entries and two branches as at 31 December 2025. That is a dated financial-reporting schedule, not a live company register and not “97 subsidiaries”. The report's participating interest is the group's disclosed economic interest; it should not be recast as a direct shareholding by the listed parent unless the report actually identifies a direct investment.
| Exact legal name | Jurisdiction | Group role | Interest classification | Status | Period / source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Betsson Malta Holding Ltd | Malta, C37767 | Holding company within core Maltese structure | Direct investment listed by Betsson AB; 100% participation | FY2025 group company | Annual Report 2025, Note 16 |
| Betsson Technologies AB | Sweden, 556651-8261 | Technology-related group company | Direct parent investment; 100% | FY2025 group company | Annual Report 2025, Note 16 |
| Betsson PR & Media AB | Sweden, 556118-8870 | Group corporate/media entity | Direct parent investment; 100% | FY2025 group company | Annual Report 2025, Note 16 |
| AB Restaurang Rouletter | Sweden, 556133-3153 | Group company with historical significance | Direct parent investment; 100% | FY2025 group company | Annual Report 2025, Note 16 |
| BML Group Ltd | Malta, C34836 | Operating company within disclosed group perimeter | 100% group participating interest; immediate shareholder not asserted | FY2025 group company | Annual Report 2025, Note 16 |
| Netplay Malta Limited | Malta, C81115 | Entity linked to the acquired NetPlay perimeter | 100% group participating interest; direct owner not inferred | FY2025 group company | Annual Report 2025, Note 16 |
| Zecure Gaming Ltd | Malta, C69036 | Historical UK consumer-licence context | 100% group participating interest in FY2025 table | FY2025 group company; UK licence subsequently surrendered | Annual Report 2025; UKGC June 2026 |
| Sporting Solutions Services Limited | United Kingdom, 06268648 | Sportsbook/technology service company | Group-linked operating/technology company; precise immediate equity chain not asserted | Active UK company, not evidence of UK B2C permission | Companies House; research cut-off Nov 2026 |
| Strive Platform Ltd (13200439) | United Kingdom | Technology-platform associate | 47% group participation; classified as an associate, not a wholly owned subsidiary | FY2025 associate | Annual Report 2025, Notes 16 and 18; Companies House |
| JDP Tech Ltd | Malta | Technology-associated investment | 50% associate | FY2025 associate classification | Annual Report 2025, Note 18 |
The Strive Platform Ltd and JDP Tech Ltd entries are deliberate: an associate is not a wholly owned subsidiary, even when a stake looks large. Equally, a group interest below 100% does not automatically mean an investee is an associate. Control and accounting classification require the company's own disclosures. The same caution applies to branches: they are establishments of existing companies, not extra incorporated subsidiaries.
The selection above illustrates categories, rather than presenting a complete present-day extract of all 95 companies. Some names in Note 16 are holdings, some serve technology or payments, and some support local operations. A reader who needs the entire dated perimeter should consult the source note and subsequent filings, including changes after year-end.
How the Brands, Operators and Parent Company Connect
There is no safe one-to-one shortcut from a familiar logo to the company holding a licence. The simplified structure is:
Betsson AB (publ) - Swedish listed parent and investor
↓ Direct shareholdings disclosed in parent-company notes
Holding and service entities - for example Betsson Malta Holding Ltd and Betsson Technologies AB
↓ Other group companies; specific immediate owners require their own documents
Operating, licensing and technology entities - distinct legal and regulatory functions
↳ Customer brands - Betsson, Betsafe, NordicBet, Rizk and other names used in relevant markets
Separately: associate investments and commercial partners are not drawn as wholly owned subsidiaries.
One company may support several brands; one brand may be offered through different locally authorised operators. A privacy notice's data controller may be relevant evidence, but does not itself prove the identity of the gambling licensee or intellectual-property owner. The correct chain must be anchored to the particular domain, product, territory and date.
The distinction also prevents a common reporting error. Betsson AB's annual report gives group participating interests for many lower-tier entities. Those percentages describe the consolidated interest, not necessarily the direct share register of the Swedish parent. For shareholders of Betsson AB itself and its voting structure, see Betsson ownership and leadership.
Current, Former and Recently Acquired Brands
Corporate portfolios change. Betsson acquired Betsafe in 2011, Nordic Gaming Group in 2012, RaceBets in 2016, NetPlay in 2017, and Gaming Innovation Group's B2C business, including Rizk-related assets, in 2020. The group later bought INKAbet in 2021 and betFIRST in 2023. These deals explain the appearance of names in historical corporate material; they do not certify that every brand remains an active standalone operation today. Our Betsson acquisition history covers the transactions themselves.
Two developments require especially careful dates. First, Betsson announced the Belgian launch of the Betsson brand in 2026, transitioning from the former betFIRST identity. A page still listing betFIRST as a current separate Belgian flagship would therefore miss a material rebrand. This does not establish that the acquired legal company disappeared when its customer-facing name changed.
Second, the Rhino transaction completed in August 2026 concerned a Canadian licensed B2C business and specified technology assets supporting B2B operations. It was not an acquisition of every Rhino business, brand or licence worldwide. Where the exact post-deal legal chain is not demonstrated, this article identifies the scope of the transaction without inventing new brand-to-subsidiary edges.
The older NetPlay names SuperCasino, Jackpot247 and Vernons belong in a historical acquisition discussion unless a recent independent operator and site status can be established. Likewise, historical corporate connections involving Cherry or NetEnt do not prove that those businesses are current Betsson subsidiaries. A corporate family tree needs dated changes, not simply accumulated logos.
Why Regional Group-Company Lists Differ
A Betsson, Betsafe or NordicBet website may have a “group companies” page tailored to its audience, territory and applicable disclosures. Such a page can identify local contractual parties or privacy responsibilities, but it is not necessarily the worldwide consolidated company register. Another country may show a different operator for an otherwise similar brand.
This matters particularly for UK research. The UK Gambling Commission records that Zecure Gaming Limited, account 56427, surrendered its remote casino licence on 22 June 2026; betsson.co.uk and the Rizk-related UK entries are recorded as inactive under that account. A UK company working on sportsbook technology does not reverse that consumer-licence status. The status of a different proposed operator would need separate UKGC evidence. See Betsson markets and licences for the territory-by-territory verification approach.
What Is Not a Betsson Subsidiary?
Five relationship types should not be collapsed into “owned by Betsson”:
- Subsidiary: an entity controlled by the group; direct and indirect ownership must be distinguished.
- Associate: an investee accounted for under an associate classification, as with the stated FY2025 Strive Platform and JDP Tech interests.
- Minority or other participating interest: a disclosed percentage that cannot alone establish control, operator identity or the direct holder.
- Branch: a registered establishment belonging to an existing legal person, not a separately incorporated company.
- Partner or supplier: a commercial counterparty, including casino-game studios and sportsbook customers, which does not become a group company by supplying or using products.
The group develops its own technology, including Techsson, and provides services to third parties. That commercial business should not be confused with equity ownership of each customer or content provider. The distinction is developed in Betsson's business model and technology.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Brands Does Betsson Own?
Betsson's corporate materials identify the flagship Betsson brand and regional names including Betsafe, NordicBet, Rizk, StarCasino and INKAbet. The precise trademark ownership, operating company and market availability should be established for each brand separately; a list of brands is not a list of directly held shares.
Are All Betsson Brands Operated by the Same Company?
No universal operator is established. Local licence disclosures and website terms determine the entity responsible for a particular market and product. A Maltese group company or Swedish parent name cannot be substituted without evidence.
Is an Associate a Subsidiary?
Not as a matter of the company's disclosed accounting classification. Betsson's FY2025 notes report Strive Platform at 47% and JDP Tech at 50% as associates. Their treatment cannot be changed merely because the holding is substantial.
Where Can I Verify Current Betsson Group Companies?
Start with the latest Betsson AB annual report's group participation notes, then examine interim disclosures and the relevant national corporate and gambling registers. Note 16 from FY2025 is a dated baseline; legal entities and ownership may have changed afterwards.
Editorial takeaway: a credible Betsson corporate map begins with the legal relationship, its source and date. A brand label alone does not identify the shareholder, the local operator or a valid licence. This overview was checked against available official group materials through 4 November 2026; it is not a continuously updated live register.
