Entain Brands and Subsidiaries: Who Owns What?

Author: Lucky BetMastermind, with help of ChatGPT. Research reviewed: 5 November 2026. This article provides corporate research, not a recommendation to gamble or invest.

Entain brands include Ladbrokes, Coral, bwin, Sportingbet, partypoker, Gala and Foxy, but the group's portfolio is more complicated than a list of gambling logos. Entain plc sits above operating companies, licensed entities, joint ventures and commercial partnerships. Some businesses are wholly controlled within the group; others involve shared ownership or a contract to operate services on behalf of an independent organisation. BetMGM in the United States, Entain CEE and TAB New Zealand illustrate three different relationships. This guide maps those distinctions using corporate reporting and register information available to 5 November 2026.

Entain Brands, Businesses and Partnerships at a Glance

Entain's annual report and official brand portfolio identify major names across sports betting, online gaming, bingo and poker. The table is a selected business map, not an exhaustive inventory of every site or an assurance that each brand is currently available in every country.

Evidence basis: Entain's 2025 Annual Report, its published brand information and corporate announcements through October 2026, together with the TAB NZ partnership disclosures. Brand affiliation is not the same claim as a current registered shareholding, operator authorisation or live domain.

Brands versus Entain Companies: The Ownership Layers

A business can be connected to Entain in several ways, and those relationships should not all be described simply as ownership. A brand is the name a customer recognises. A registered company is a legal person. A licensed operator holds specified permissions for a jurisdiction and product. A subsidiary is a company controlled through a documented corporate relationship. A joint venture involves shared ownership or control, while a contractual partner may remain legally independent.

There is also a difference between direct ownership and a group's effective economic interest. Entain's FY2025 subsidiary note reports a 100% group interest in Gibraltar businesses including LC International Limited and ElectraWorks Limited. That supports their inclusion in the group at the reporting date. It does not, by itself, identify every immediate shareholder between those entities and Entain plc.

For a British example, Companies House records identify Entain Holdings (UK) Limited and Ladbrokes Coral Group Limited as distinct companies. Public persons-with-significant-control records can show a control band of at least 75%, but that band is not an exact assertion of 100% direct share ownership. Historic regulatory ownership diagrams may give a more precise percentage at an earlier date; they must retain that date rather than silently becoming the current company register.

The practical result is a two-layer question: does this brand belong to Entain's commercial portfolio, and which company is responsible for a particular product? Our Entain markets and licences analysis takes the second question through domain, legal operator, product and regulator.

The UK and International Operating Portfolio

In the UK, Ladbrokes and Coral connect a long retail betting heritage with digital sports betting and gaming. Gala and Foxy serve different gaming audiences, while bwin and partypoker represent established international online identities. The brand portfolio also reaches local markets through names such as Eurobet in Italy and BetCity in the Netherlands. These are meaningful business distinctions, but they should not be treated as a uniform collection of UK-facing gambling websites.

Entain's international operations extend beyond one business model. Australia includes Ladbrokes and Neds, Canada includes Sports Interaction, and New Zealand combines its own brands with a specific strategic arrangement. The existence of a brand in a corporate presentation does not prove that every historic website remains open, or that it offers the same products to users across borders.

Legal names can be just as confusing as consumer names. LC International Limited and ElectraWorks Limited are relevant Gibraltar entities, whereas similarly styled UK companies or other firms using the word ElectraWorks are separate legal subjects. Entain Holdings (Gibraltar) Limited is evidenced as directly owned by Entain plc in the 2025 audited note. The available disclosures establish Entain's group interest in these businesses, but they do not identify every company in the intervening ownership chain.

Acquisitions and brand launches explain how this portfolio was assembled, but they are not substitutes for current ownership evidence. For the dated changes in group composition, read Entain's corporate history. For the different economic contributions of online, retail and technology, see Entain's business model.

Is BetMGM Part of Entain?

Yes, but BetMGM LLC in the United States is a 50/50 joint venture, not a wholly owned Entain operating subsidiary. Entain's interest sits alongside the interest of MGM Resorts International. The US venture has its own business and reporting disclosures; Entain contributes technology, product and expertise but does not thereby own all of BetMGM's equity.

Historic US regulatory material identifies GVC Holdings (USA) Inc. and MGM Sports & Interactive Gaming, LLC as the two 50% members of BetMGM LLC, with subsequent state-record evidence supporting the entity distinction. These are intermediate corporate vehicles rather than a justification for drawing one unsourced direct line from Entain plc to BetMGM LLC. Their exact ownership chain must be read on the date of the relevant filing.

That distinction matters financially. The results of a jointly controlled business do not become wholly owned group sales. Readers comparing the Entain consolidated accounts with separately announced BetMGM revenue should check the reporting and equity-accounting basis in our Entain financial results guide.

BetMGM UK Is Not the Same Legal Operation

Despite the name, the UK-facing BetMGM business is not the US BetMGM LLC joint venture. The British operation belongs to the separate LeoVegas/MGM corporate and licensing chain. Consequently, BetMGM's US 50/50 ownership cannot be applied to betmgm.co.uk, its player accounts or its UK operator. Likewise, the existence of BetMGM Canada Inc. as a named local entity does not establish that Entain owns precisely 50% of that Canadian company.

This is why a branded logo is a starting point for research, not an ownership certificate. Entain's US joint venture relationship is clear; other national businesses carrying the BetMGM name need their own evidence.

Entain CEE: STS, SuperSport and a Conditional Ownership Change

Entain CEE groups important Central and Eastern European interests, including STS in Poland and SuperSport in Croatia. It provides a particularly useful example of why a current ownership table must identify both the date and the stage of a transaction.

On 25 June 2026, Entain announced an agreement to sell 20 percentage points of Entain Holdings (CEE) Ltd to EMMA Capital as part of a phased exit. The disclosed positions immediately before the proposed completion and under the agreed post-completion structure are different:

HolderDisclosed pre-completion interestAgreed post-completion interest, conditional
Entain67.5%47.5%
EMMA Capital22.5%42.5%
Juroszek family foundations10.0%10.0%

The right-hand column is not presented as completed ownership. The investor material reviewed for this article described completion as expected in Q4 2026, subject to regulatory approvals; a closing announcement was not established in the checked primary evidence as at 5 November. EMMA's proposed future voting position may also differ from its own economic shareholding because of a separate voting agreement associated with the Juroszek interest.

There is a further accounting distinction. Entain's interim reporting classified the CEE activity as discontinued and the related assets as held for sale. Those accounting treatments can precede legal completion. They neither prove that Entain's interest has already fallen to 47.5% nor erase STS and SuperSport from the historical group context.

Australia and New Zealand: A Company Is Not a Partnership

Entain has an Australian sports betting portfolio including Ladbrokes and Neds. Its New Zealand arrangements require a different explanation. Local register material identifies Entain Group Pty Ltd, an Australian company (ACN 151 956 768), as the 100% shareholder of Entain New Zealand Limited (NZ company number 8722386). That is a specific direct subsidiary relationship supported by a corporate record; it should not be extended to every entity appearing alongside it in marketing material.

In June 2023, TAB New Zealand commenced a 25-year strategic partnering arrangement with Entain covering delegated betting and broadcasting operations. TAB NZ remains an independent statutory body. Entain delivering functions under the agreement is not the same as Entain acquiring 100% of TAB NZ shares. It is also wrong to equate reporting consolidation of partnership-related operations with equity ownership of TAB NZ itself.

The brand Betcha appears within Entain's New Zealand commercial context, but that does not give it the same ownership or authorisation profile as TAB NZ. A useful ownership map names Entain's local company, the brand and the independent partner separately, including their respective legal roles.

How to Verify an Entain Subsidiary or Brand

A dependable verification process begins with the company rather than the logo. First establish the exact registered name and number. Next identify whether the evidence shows direct shares, a group-effective interest, a controlling-person band, a joint venture stake or merely a commercial contract. Then match the name to the relevant brand, product and territory. Finally, date the relationship and check whether an announced sale, restructuring or licence change has actually taken effect.

Our status language is deliberate: confirmed means the relationship is supported for a stated date; historical means it was supported at an earlier snapshot; conditional refers to a transaction awaiting required events; and unverified means the available evidence cannot establish the precise edge. None should be silently promoted to present-day certainty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Brands Does Entain Own?

Its reported portfolio includes Ladbrokes, Coral, bwin, partypoker, Sportingbet, Gala, Foxy and several local-market names. The relevant legal operator varies by product and territory.

How Much of BetMGM Does Entain Own?

Entain holds a 50% interest in the US BetMGM LLC joint venture alongside MGM Resorts International. That percentage should not be projected onto other BetMGM-named national companies without evidence.

Is BetMGM UK Part of Entain?

No. The UK-facing product is in the separate LeoVegas/MGM chain rather than Entain's US joint venture.

What Does Entain CEE Include?

Its portfolio includes STS and SuperSport. A 2026 agreement proposed changing ownership of the CEE holding business, subject to completion conditions.

Does Entain Own TAB New Zealand?

No. It operates delegated functions through a long-term partnership with the independent statutory body, while Entain New Zealand Limited is a separate corporate subsidiary.

Our Assessment

For me, the revealing point is that Entain's commercial reach is wider than any simple list of wholly owned gambling companies. Ladbrokes is a recognisable brand, BetMGM US is a jointly owned venture, Entain CEE has a conditional ownership change, and TAB NZ is an independent partner. Each relationship has different consequences for control, reporting and regulation. A careful corporate map makes those differences visible and flags the records that still need updating.
