A familiar betting brand does not tell you which company operates its website or which regulator has authorised the relevant activity. Entain's legal arrangements differ by market, product and sometimes by domain.
Entain Markets and Operating Entities at a Glance
Entain participates in regulated gambling markets across several regions, including Great Britain, Gibraltar, parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and selected Canadian provinces. The answer to which countries Entain operates in is therefore wider than any one licence list. Yet corporate presence does not automatically authorise every product in every country.
For a useful check, start with the exact legal entity, then match its domain, regulatory permission, product class, territory and date. The entries below give a verified starting point rather than claiming to be a complete worldwide register. Entain's group-level background is covered in our Entain group overview.

Status key: “active/recorded” means the named primary register displayed the permission at the checked date; “contractual operator” describes an agreement rather than a gambling licence; “application/right to apply” is not an issued licence; “historical” is not automatically current; “not verified” means the claimed link has not been proved, not that the business is necessarily unauthorised.
United Kingdom: LC International Online versus Retail Ladbrokes
LC International Limited is a Gibraltar-incorporated company, number 46808, with UK Gambling Commission business account 54743. The regulator lists licence 054743-R-330863-015 as active for remote activities including casino, bingo, betting and betting intermediary services. The record displays activity commencement dates in July 2019; this must not be mistaken for the date on which the current licence suffix was first issued.
Crucially, the UKGC publishes a domain-name list associated with this particular licensee. At the research check, active entries included ladbrokes.com, coral.co.uk, bwin.com, partypoker.com, partycasino.com, foxybingo.com, galabingo.com and sportingbet.com, among others. The register marked cheekybingo.com and www.partysports.com inactive; those names should not be advertised as current sites merely because they remain visible in historic records.
This is a permission-and-domain relationship, not a claim that every product is available to each visitor or that a Gibraltar company may market the same product everywhere. The customer's jurisdiction, current terms and specific approved activity remain decisive.
By contrast, Ladbrokes Betting & Gaming Limited, UK company number 00775667, has UKGC account 1611. Its recorded permissions include non-remote betting activities linked to physical premises, alongside separate remote and ancillary classes. A retail licence does not become an online authorisation merely because the trading name is shared with a website.
A third entity, Entain Operations Limited, has UKGC account 57408 and active remote categories for hosting, software and specified gaming activities. A zero-domain entry in that licensee's domain roster does not mean Entain has no UK-facing websites. The online domains must be checked against the correct operator, especially LC International's own list.
Gibraltar: Approved Brands Do Not Replace UK Permissions
The Gibraltar Gambling Division's schedule dated 3 August 2026 records LC International Limited under RGL010 (B2C Remote Bookmaker) and RGL012 (B2C Remote Gaming). It records ElectraWorks Limited under RGL050 (B2C Remote Gaming) and RGL051 (B2C Remote Bookmaker). Approved brands are listed separately for each licensee; the licence number alone does not identify every approved domain.
Gibraltar permission is territorial and entity-specific. It does not override UKGC domain approvals, confer authority in Ontario or show that every Entain-associated site uses the same legal operator. Gibraltar's 2025 gambling legislation and subsequent transition also mean that older reference formats should not be assumed to represent the precise legal form of every current authorisation.
A further historic intermediary reference, RGL137, appears in the research trail but is not conclusively reconciled to the August allocation schedule. Its absence from one PDF is not proof of revocation, while the broader intermediary category on the live index is not enough to assert that this particular number remains active for a specified entity. We therefore do not assign it a definite current status.
Readers looking at a Gibraltar operator should confirm the current regulator entry and approved brand rather than rely on an old site footer. Our Entain brands and subsidiaries guide deals with corporate affiliation, which is a different question from regulatory authorisation.
Which ElectraWorks Company Holds Which Permission?
“ElectraWorks” appears in records relating to more than one legal entity. Treating them as one company can generate false conclusions about licence coverage, country of incorporation or current operating rights.
| Entity or identifier | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| ElectraWorks Limited · Gibraltar no. 94014 | Separate Gibraltar legal identity associated with local B2C entries | That every similarly named UK company holds the same licence |
| ElectraWorks Maple Limited · UK no. 01605615 | Active Companies House company; PSC Entain Holdings (UK) Limited; named operator for Ontario Bwin and PartyPoker | That the UK company's non-trading SIC defines Ontario revenue flows or grants UK gaming permission |
| MGA/CRP/688/2019-03 | Malta Gaming Authority approval associated with ElectraWorks Limited | Worldwide product approval or UK-facing consumer authorisation |
The Malta Gaming Authority's verification service identifies ElectraWorks Limited in relation to approval MGA/CRP/688/2019-03. Its B2C designation and the classes or services named in the record must be read as issued. A Maltese regulatory approval is not a substitute for a separate UKGC, Canadian provincial or Gibraltar authorisation.
A separate UK company also named ElectraWorks Limited, number 12786809, is recorded at Companies House with electrical installation activity. No connection between that namesake and Entain has been established; it is not included here as an Entain operator or licensee.
Even within a licensing group, a product offered in one jurisdiction may involve a different responsible company elsewhere. Historic corporate names, identifiers and legal-entity identifiers are useful discovery clues, but a lapsed LEI does not itself prove dissolution. An investor's group chart likewise does not resolve which licensee sits in a site's current legal footer.
Australia and New Zealand: Wagering, Not a Universal Casino Licence
Australia has product-specific national restrictions alongside state and territory wagering frameworks. An Entain group company appearing in Australian regulatory material does not thereby acquire one national licence for all online gambling products. Entain Group Pty Ltd is a distinct Australian entity; its role in local wagering and regulatory matters should not be conflated with Gibraltar's LC International or the Isle of Man listed parent.
In New Zealand, TAB New Zealand is a statutory body. In 2023 it entered a 25-year strategic partnering arrangement with Entain, under which wagering and broadcasting functions were delegated to Entain NZ. The arrangement commenced in June 2023. Describing Entain as the TAB's contractual operating partner is more precise than stating that Entain owns the statutory body or that the contract itself is an all-purpose gambling licence.
New Zealand's Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 establishes a different regulatory framework. TAB New Zealand was among 11 successful entities in the October 2026 auction, winning the right to apply for an online casino licence - not an issued licence. The strategic partnership does not establish which legal entity would ultimately hold any casino authorisation. Full operation of the licensed regime is expected in 2027.
Neither TAB wagering rights nor an auction outcome should be described as an existing online casino licence for Entain NZ. Any eventual casino operator, approved brand and licence status must be taken from the future official register rather than inferred from the 2023 partnership.
Canada: Ontario and Alberta Require Separate Checks
The phrase BetMGM Canada licence can conceal an important jurisdictional difference. BetMGM Canada Inc. is distinct from the United States joint-venture company BetMGM LLC. Even a shared brand does not turn one provincial registration into permission throughout Canada.
Ontario: Regulator Plus Operating Agreement
In Ontario, commercial internet gaming operators are registered by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and, outside the separate provincial lottery exception, operate under agreements with iGaming Ontario (iGO). iGO's directory identifies BetMGM Canada Inc. among participating operators and lists BetMGM casino, poker and sportsbook offerings. The appropriate test is the exact iGO entry and approved site, not a generic “Canada licensed” statement.
iGO's directory dated 1 September 2026 separately names ElectraWorks Maple Limited for www.on.bwin.ca (casino, poker and sports betting) and www.on.partypoker.ca (poker). Companies House identifies it as active UK company 01605615, with Entain Holdings (UK) Limited recorded as its person with significant control. Its SIC classification is “non-trading company”; that classification does not negate the Ontario directory listing or establish which company receives particular gaming revenues. UK incorporation is not itself a UK gambling permission.
Alberta: AGLC and AiGC Have Different Jobs
Alberta's system separates oversight by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) from commercial arrangements with the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC). AGLC explains that registered operators must also have an agreement with AiGC to participate in the market.
The AGLC register shows BetMGM Canada Inc. in the iGaming - Operator class, with BetMGM.ca and a stated registration expiry of 13 July 2027. That date is a register field, not a claim that approval is guaranteed to continue beyond expiry. No unverified certificate number is needed to substantiate the recorded class and date.
Ontario and Alberta therefore need separate regulatory verification, agreements and domain checks. Neither record automatically authorises all casino or betting products in every other Canadian province.
United States: A Supplier Approval Is Not a Consumer Licence
US gambling permissions differ by state. A historic Nevada corporate order or approval concerning an Entain-linked technology supplier such as Angstrom may establish a particular regulatory relationship at a defined date. It does not grant a universal licence to accept wagers from consumers in all US states.
Equally, BetMGM's US joint-venture arrangements should not be transferred to BetMGM Canada Inc. or to every parent company in the Entain group. For the technology and supplier distinction, see Entain technology and business model.
How to Verify an Entain Gambling Licence
- Record the exact domain and product. A casino offering and a sportsbook can fall under different permission classes even when they share a brand.
- Read the current legal footer. Identify the company that says it operates or supplies the service, including its registration number.
- Open the relevant regulator's official register. Search by the exact entity, not only by its trading name or the listed parent.
- Check status, class and dates. Look for active versus inactive domains, remote versus non-remote activities, issued permissions and any expiry or variation.
- Check any required commercial agreement. Some markets, including Ontario and Alberta, distinguish registration from the operating arrangement.
If the exact company - domain link is missing, the responsible conclusion is “not established from the record checked”, not “licensed everywhere” or “unlicensed”. A regulator's historic PDF can support a dated fact, while a live register may show a later variation. For enforcement rather than permission questions, see Entain risks and opportunities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Entain Licensed Throughout the UK?
Licences belong to named legal operators and specified activities. The UKGC records different remote and non-remote permissions for LC International, Entain Operations and Ladbrokes Betting & Gaming.
Is LC International Limited the Same as Entain Operations Limited?
No. They have separate UKGC accounts, 54743 and 57408, with different recorded activities and domain information.
Which ElectraWorks Entity Operates a Particular Site?
The site's current legal footer and the relevant regulator entry must identify the company. Gibraltar, UK and Canadian-related records must not be merged on the basis of a shared name.
Does BetMGM Have One Licence Covering All of Canada?
No. Ontario and Alberta each require their own checks. BetMGM Canada Inc. is also a different legal entity from US BetMGM LLC.
Does the Entain - TAB Partnership Mean Entain NZ Has an Online Casino Licence?
No. TAB wagering functions arise from a strategic arrangement. New Zealand's separate online casino regime requires a successful licence application; an auction win is only the right to apply.
Our Conclusion
Entain's market footprint is best understood as a collection of precise legal and regulatory relationships, not one global permission. A reliable conclusion identifies the country, service, domain, responsible entity, regulator and evidence date. This protects readers from both exaggerated licensing claims and false allegations based on incomplete records.
