Genius Sports Subsidiaries, Brands and Products

Written by Lucky BetMastermind, with help of ChatGPT.

Genius Sports has legal subsidiaries, technology brands, acquired businesses and media properties. These are not four names for the same thing. Genius Sports Limited is the listed parent; Genius Sports UK Limited is a separate operating company; GeniusIQ and BetVision are product names; and Legend is an acquired media business whose portfolio includes established consumer websites. Meanwhile, major sports leagues and bookmakers appearing in Genius marketing material are generally commercial counterparties, not group subsidiaries.

For the group's activities and financial context, start with our Genius Sports company overview. This page has a narrower task: to identify the entities and relationships behind the names.

Four different kinds of relationship

Category What it means Example What it does not establish
Legal company A registered entity with its own records and obligations Genius Sports UK Limited That it is the publicly listed parent
Product or platform A commercial offering operated within the group BetVision, GeniusIQ A separately incorporated company with that name
Acquired business or media property An operation or site included in an acquired portfolio Legend, Covers.com That the listed parent holds each domain directly
External counterparty A league, customer, rights holder or commercial partner NFL, DraftKings Equity ownership or subsidiary status

These categories matter for licensing, accounts and editorial independence. A portfolio statement does not necessarily identify a site's direct trade mark or domain holder.

Betgenius, GeniusIQ, BetVision and FANHub

Many searches for Genius Sports brands lead to product pages. That is understandable: the company sells technology under recognisable names. Yet a product launch is not a company incorporation, and a customer case study is not a subsidiary filing.

Name Correct category Function and identity limit
Betgenius Historical brand and former UK legal name Betting-related data and technology; “Betgenius Limited” is the former name of today's Genius Sports UK Limited
GeniusIQ Technology platform Computer vision, data and AI-related applications; not proof of a standalone listed entity
BetVision Product Interactive live video and betting-related interfaces supplied to operators; not a Genius-owned sportsbook
FANHub Audience and advertising technology name Fan engagement and commercial activation; do not conflate the product label with every historical Fan Hub company
Engage Product/service offering Interactive fan experiences and brand engagement, not evidence that an advertiser is part of the group

If an NFL game is presented through BetVision within an operator's interface, the league remains a rights holder and the sportsbook remains the customer-facing operator. GeniusIQ's described AI and computer-vision capabilities do not independently verify claims of improved outcomes or financial returns.

FANHub is also a name with historical corporate context. The international subsidiary disclosures include related entities, while Genius marketing uses a fan-engagement identity. It would be misleading either to present every historical Fan Hub corporate name as a current independent consumer brand or to dismiss the underlying acquired entities merely because marketing language has evolved. For how these services earn revenue, see the Genius Sports business model.

Acquired technologies: more than a product catalogue

The group has expanded its capabilities through acquisitions as well as internal development. Three examples show why its portfolio cannot be described solely as a collection of sportsbook feeds.

Business or technology Documented association What it contributes
Second Spectrum Acquired technology business within the Genius group Player tracking, analytics and augmented broadcast applications
Spirable Historical advertising-technology acquisition Data-driven creative and personalised media capabilities
Sports Innovation Lab Fan-intelligence business acquired in September 2025, as disclosed by Genius Sports Audience and fan-behaviour intelligence; exact current integration should not be inferred from the old transaction name alone

Second Spectrum is both an acquired business and a tracking-technology name. Older Spirable and Sports Innovation Lab records also require date-sensitive interpretation, not assumptions that every former entity remains active under its old name. Our history and acquisitions analysis carries the full chronology.

Legend: the buyer, target, seller and vehicle

Legend is the largest reason why a 2026 Genius Sports subsidiary map looks different from an older technology-only profile. On 5 February 2026, Genius announced an agreement to acquire the sports and gaming media business. It announced completion on 1 May 2026, while the group's interim acquisition accounting gives 30 April 2026 as the acquisition date for Zeal Limited. The announcement date, legal/accounting acquisition date and later reporting are not interchangeable.

Name or party Role in the transaction Important boundary
Genius Sports Limited Listed acquiring group Not necessarily the direct registered holder of every acquired asset
Lion Bidco (Guernsey) Limited Indirect acquisition vehicle identified in the SEC transaction documentation A legal transaction entity, not a consumer-facing media brand
Zeal Limited Acquired target identified in interim accounting A legal target, distinct from the broad Legend trading identity
Legend Acquired media business/platform Business/portfolio identity, not a substitute for all legal company names
Epos Capital Selling-side party identified in the transaction record Seller is not a post-close Genius subsidiary merely by participating in the sale

The announced transaction value was up to $1.2 billion, framed as approximately $900 million at closing plus up to $300 million of contingent earn-out consideration. “Up to” is essential: the maximum headline is not proof that the entire amount was paid. The interim purchase-accounting record also uses a different consideration measure. Accounting valuation, financing and actual cash transferred answer different questions and must not be combined into a single informal “price paid”.

Genius now controls an acquired media business, but the legal chain to each site and trade mark still needs property-specific evidence.

Covers.com, Casino.org, Casino Guru and the media portfolio

In its announcement of the completed acquisition, Genius described Legend as a media platform with owned and operated digital properties including Covers.com, Casino.org and Casino Guru. This is strong issuer evidence that these names form part of the acquired media estate. It is not, by itself, an extract from domain registration or trade mark records identifying each site's direct legal owner.

Media name What is supported What remains unverified here
Covers.com Named by Genius among Legend's owned/operated media properties Exact immediate domain and trade mark holding company
Casino.org Named within the acquired Legend portfolio Direct legal domain holder and any jurisdiction-specific publication entities
Casino Guru Named within the acquired Legend portfolio Exact legal ownership chain for the site and associated marks
Prediction.com Genius-associated comparison/discovery product launched through the Legend context in September 2026 This does not establish that it runs a regulated prediction exchange itself

“Owned and operated” is the issuer's portfolio description, not evidence that Genius Sports Limited directly holds each domain registration. Individual ownership chains require further records.

This matters unusually much for an independent gambling publication. If a Legend-connected website reviews, ranks or comments on Genius, its clients or its broader industry, that ownership relationship may be relevant when assessing editorial independence. It does not automatically mean any particular article is false or dictated by the parent. It does mean the reader deserves transparency about the corporate connection, particularly where coverage is presented as independent consumer advice.

Who is not a Genius Sports subsidiary?

Commercial partnerships can be prominent, long-running and economically important without transferring ownership. The following examples belong outside the Genius subsidiary register unless a separate equity filing proves otherwise.

External organisation Relevant relationship Why it is not counted as a subsidiary
NFL Official-data, technology and commercial partner Data rights and disclosed warrants/equity-related interests do not make the league group-owned
Football DataCo Rights counterparty for specified football data Contractual rights to distribute data are not ownership of football leagues
FIBA Basketball federation and data/video partner Partner and rights-holder role
DraftKings, FanDuel, bet365 Examples of betting-sector customers/partners in the research record Buying technology does not transfer corporate control
Kalshi and Polymarket Separate prediction-market counterparties announced in 2026 Data, media and integrity relationships are not corporate acquisitions

There is a reverse distinction in the NFL's case. SEC disclosures have described securities and warrants associated with an NFL-related holder. The NFL can therefore appear in a discussion of commercial rights and the Genius shareholder register without being a Genius subsidiary. Its shareholding interpretation belongs in our people and ownership research; the precise rights, territories and regulatory permissions belong in markets, partners, rights and licences.

What this structure means for readers

In my view, the most revealing change is that Genius Sports now spans both sports-data infrastructure and media that can influence how people discover gambling-related information. The scale of its product catalogue is less interesting than the boundaries: which entity signs the agreement, which company owns the technology, which publisher reaches the reader, and whose licence or editorial interest is actually involved.

I would use three checks before relying on any claimed “Genius brand”: first establish whether the name denotes a registered company or a product; then identify whether the relationship is ownership, acquisition or a commercial contract; finally attach the statement to a filing or announcement date. Those checks avoid making a historic Betgenius record, an NFL partnership and a Legend website appear to be the same type of asset.

The structure presented here is an evidence-bounded map as at 8 November 2026, not a representation that every company and every domain holder worldwide has been independently identified. That limitation makes the map more useful: it shows where the public record is strong and where precision still requires a separate filing.
